Archie Leonard Adams, son of Uri Mason & Jane Woods (McKain) Adams was born 10 July 1871, married Lillie (a.ka. Lilly) LeBarr (Lubins) Douglass 21 January 1897 and died 11 May 1944.

They had two children:
1. Carl Valentine Adams (14 February 1898 - 25 October 1989) married Helen Mae Manning (27 January 1905 - 12 June 1973)
2. Clare May Adams (25 November 1902 - 17 August 2001) married Donald W. Price (22 November 1897 - 24 August 1975)
ARCHIE L. ADAMS
Archie Leonard Adams (1871-1944) was born in Porter Township, Van Buren County,
Michigan. He attended grade school and was a farmer all of his life in Porter
Township. Archie & Lilly belonged to the Harmony Chapel and were members
of the Gleaners Society. Archie also held various school board positions. In
1897 on January 21st, Archie married Lilly L. Douglas (1874-1974). Born to this
union were two children-Carl Valentine Adams on 14 February 1898 and Clare
M. Adams on 25 November 1902. Carl went through grade school in Porter Township
and graduated from Lawton High School, later to operate the farm in Porter Township
until his retirement. Clare went through grade school in Porter Township and
has lived in Marcellus and Kalamazoo. Carl married Helen M. Manning of Marcellus
on 14 March 1923. Born to this union were Gerald L. and Leatrice June. On 11
May 1951, Gerald married Irene Krieger (1932-1963) of Chicago, IL. Born to this
union were Gerald C., Dawn Marie, Douglas Carl, and Mary Francis. Gerald L.
married Marilyn Graham June 1969. Born to this union was Jeffery Scott. Marilyn
previously had Daniel, Teresa, and Timothy. June married Phillip Powell of Marcellus
on 1 June 1946. Born to this union was Sandra Lee, Gregory, Kyle Ann, and Dale
Ann. Clare married Don W. Price (1897-1975) on 23 June 1923. On 23 August 1946
they adopted twin girls, Sueann and Sharlann.

Archie L. Adams Obituary
"Archie L. Adams, son of Uriah and Jane Adams, passed away May 11, 1944, after an illness of three weeks. He was born in Porter township July 10, 1871 and has lived on a farm in that vicinity all of his life.
He was united in marriage to Lily L. Douglass January 21, 1897. To this union were born two children, Carl who resides on the farm and Mrs. Don Price of Kalamazoo, all of who mourn his loss.
He was one of a family of six children. Two brothers who preceded him in death were Mason of South Bend, and Dr. R. U. Adams of Kalamazoo. Surviving are two sisters and one brother, Mrs. George Adams of Detroit, Chester of Porter, and Mrs. Claude Sykes of Benton Harbor.
He also leaves two grandchildren, June and Gerald Adams, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Romig funeral home, Sunday, May 14 at 3 p.m. Rev. Henry Hulme, local Methodist minister officiating. Burial was in the Marcellus cemetery."
Gary D. Huff
Gary D. Huff, age 63, of Marcellus, passed away Monday morning, November 3, 2008 at his residence following a six week illness. He was born August 17, 1945 in Dowagiac. On May 8, 1970 in Marcellus he married Carol M. Murray who survives. He had been a resident of Marcellus most of his life and graduated from Marcellus High School in 1964. He graduated from Western Michigan University with both his Bachelor and Master's Degrees in business. He was a Commanding Officer at the Three Rivers Unit of the Michigan National Guard. He formerly was Vice-President of Marketing with Lyons Industries, Inc. in Dowagiac. He was an active member of the Marcellus United Methodist Church and was a Lay Speaker. He previously served on the Marcellus School Board, Township Library Board and the Boy Scout Committee. He enjoyed reading, history, world traveling and vacationing with his family in the Upper Peninsula. Surviving besides his wife, Carol, are one son, Gregory (Sara) Huff of Scotts; one granddaughter, Avila; one half-sister, Margaret (Butch) Hook of West Olive; one half-brother, Sam (Judy) Castleman of Karnak, Illinois and a wonderful extended family. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. , Saturday, November 8, 2008 in the Marcellus United Methodist Church with Reverend John D. Messner officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Marcellus Funeral Home, Marcellus. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Marcellus United Methodist Church.
