CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Anna M. Nemmers, 83, of Charles City, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Anna Nemmers will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Reverend Carl Ries, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Anna M. Nemmers, 83, of Charles City, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
Anna Mary Biretz Nemmers was born December 23, 1923, at Lawler, the daughter of Jacob and Frances (Mailinger) Biretz. She received her education at New Hampton. In 1944 she was united in marriage to George Nemmers. They initially lived in Nashua moving to Charles City in 1957. Anna was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Saint Mary’s Circle. Her interests included flower gardening, baking and watching “I Love Lucy”. Anna will be remembered for her excellent homemade noodles.
Living family members include three children, Joseph Lee (Helen) Biretz of Fertile, Theodore B. Nemmers of Phoenix, Ariz. and Gladys Kleman of Charles City; three grandchildren, Matthew Biretz, Mellissa DeMerritt and Theodore Kleman; and a sister, Barbara Marker of Charles City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on January 24, 1968; five brothers and two sisters.
